Inflection AI Inc. acquired BoostKPI Inc. and Jelled.ai Inc., the two startup companies that provide AI tools for enterprises.
The company did not reveal acquisition pricing, but it did reveal the deals recently.
Launched in 2022, Inflection AI raised USD 1.3 billion the following year from investors. Its first focus was on creating Pi, a ChatGPT substitute that operated on a large language model that was internally trained. Following a USD 625 million acquisition of Microsoft Corp. last year, the majority of Inflection AI’s staff switched to developing specialized AI models for businesses.
The startup’s CEO, Sean White, gave an update on its product roadmap. Inflection AI isn’t interested on creating the kind of state-of-the-art LLMs that cost billions of dollars to train. Rather, the company will work to create an “enterprise layer” that would enable businesses to use AI in their operations.
That endeavor may be aided by the two startup acquisitions that Inflection AI announced recently.
Ada, a chatbot created by BoostAPI, enables users to do data science tasks using natural language cues. A marketer might ask the service to identify the most cost-effective campaigns by uploading an ad performance dataset. Ada can then be used by financial specialists to examine the commercial performance of their organization.
The output of the chatbot can be organized as a heatmap or as a natural language response. A heatmap is a type of graph that simplifies the review of complex data by visualizing it as a grid of rectangles. When BoostKPI detects a data point of special interest, it has the option to produce alerts.
The startup’s technology will be utilized by Inflection AI to improve its recently launched Inflection for Enterprise platform. Customers that use the service can get Inflection 3.0, an LLM that has been optimized for their datasets. There are two variants of the model: one that is designed to power chatbots and another that has a high degree of precision in following human commands.
There are two options for Inflection for Enterprise clients to acquire Inflection 3.0. The model may be deployed on-site as part of an appliance driven by Intel Corp.’s Gaudi 3 machine learning accelerators, or it can be run in the cloud.
An AI-powered email inbox assistant is available from Jelled.ai. The utility automatically drafts messages using an LLM. Additionally, it can filter promotions, categorize incoming emails, summarize them, and carry out a number of related duties. “Bringing these teams together means we can build a more powerful AI system that meets the needs of every enterprise and use case,” White added.
About a month has passed since Inflection AI acquired Boundaryless, a Swiss company that assists businesses in putting robotic process automation solutions into place. Meanwhile, the AI developer integrated Inflection for Enterprise with the renowned RPA technology from UiPath Inc.
