Microsoft Corp. has introduced Dynamics 365 Copilot, which harnesses the company’s recent integration of OpenAI LLC’s ChatGPT chatbot for search and puts it to work for business users, expanding the capabilities of artificial intelligence to business users.

The new AI assistant will utilize ChatGPT’s “generative AI” capacity, which can interpret natural speech typed by users and produce instant responses or new material. Microsoft is incorporating the technology into apps where it may be used to summarize conference notes swiftly, create email content for clients, automate data entry, and do other activities.

Microsoft began integrating ChatGPT’s chatbot into its Bing search engine in February to enhance its search and answer capabilities. The tool employs generative AI, which enables users to ask questions and receive conversational responses based on online search data.

The business integrates the assistant with products like Dynamics 365 Sales and Viva Sales to provide meeting summaries, product and price information, and insights from recorded Teams sessions. Incorporating it into customer care tools will allow customers to quickly create AI-powered emails and chats that can be wholly managed by a virtual agent and transferred to a person when the AI can no longer manage the interaction.

With the AI assistant, marketers can significantly streamline their workflow by asking it to examine their data and provide simplified reports. Earlier, they were required to create sophisticated queries manually, segment their customer reports, and read through them to generate insights. Using Copilot, the AI assistant could comprehend their requirements and give suggestions based on important themes, current emails, and other pertinent information.

Microsoft’s business management solution, Dynamics 365 Business Central, will enable Copilot to develop vivid product descriptions for stores utilizing metadata elements such as color, material, and size. The AI may also be programmed to modify its tone of voice, format, and duration to match the desired mood of the consumer. As a result, they will not need to customize the material as much before its release.

Charles Lamanna, corporate vice president of business applications and platforms at Microsoft, said, “The next era of business applications is being transformed by generative AI. Users will increasingly expect their customer relations management and enterprise resource planning applications to include AI-powered expertise.”

The supply chain is also receiving assistance from artificial intelligence with copilot capabilities, which may utilize the assistant to forecast interruptions more accurately by accessing news, weather reports, and supplier data to indicate possible problems proactively. Agents using the tool can utilize the assistant to compose outreach emails, reroute orders, estimate new delivery dates, and choose alternative distribution sites to meet consumer demand.

Microsoft’s low-code app development platform for business customers, Power Platform, received two significant AI-powered enhancements, including adding conversational features to previously existing bots and generative AI models to Power Apps and Power Automate.

Power Virtual Agents enables developers to create chatbots via a visual, low-code, drag-and-drop interface that simplifies the process of bot creation. Most of the time, these bots enable consumer self-service for various activities, but there are occasions when they cannot respond to a query and must forward it to a person. Yet, with the assistance of generative AI trained on a company’s website, a bot may effortlessly respond to consumer inquiries without manually entering each inquiry and response.

AI Builder was released four years ago to provide access to strong tools in Power Platform. Now, generative AI models are showcased on the Azure OpenAI Service’s low-code interface. Utilizing this new feature, app developers may include generative AI capabilities that can be used to create a variety of functionalities. This includes summarizing and sending data with Power Automate, a marketing program that automatically produces content based on keywords and generates social media text. A chat application might provide automated summaries of collaborative threads as sessions conclude.

The conversation booster function is experimental and not yet accessible for bots; however, it is available for preview. A restricted preview of AI Builder’s templates with generative AI models is available.
