Visual AI startup Napkin.ai Inc. unveiled a graphics tool to transform text content like newsletters, business plans, and pitch decks into imagery that effectively communicates the complex insights they entail.

The startup stated that it is improving people’s ability to communicate and articulate their thoughts more clearly, emphasizing the need to do so in this era of extreme information overload. To achieve this, a novel form of visual generative AI technology is being developed that empowers users to communicate more effectively through images.

Its technology tries to make graphics creation more approachable, so users don’t have to spend hours crafting the perfect images to accompany the documents that describe their ideas.

Users copy and paste their current document into the text box on Napkin.ai to get started. Then, they click the spark button on any text, transforming the selected text into a list of suggested graphics. For example, the user can upload a business plan that lists the different revenue streams for their proposed company, and it will convert this into an eye-catching graphic that summarizes the company’s revenue streams.

Napkin.ai Co-founder Pramod Sharma stated that Apple Inc. made it easy for users to click amazing pictures with the iPhone and that his organization aims to achieve the same for graphics. “Visuals are powerful, and we’ve designed Napkin so that anyone can easily communicate their ideas through beautiful imagery,” he added.

After choosing a suggested graphic from the multiple options Napkin.ai generates, the user can modify features like the font, colors, shapes, design, and more to make the images consistent with their branding and style guidelines.

Additionally, Napkin.ai interfaces with several widely used enterprise content platforms, including X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Slack, Notion, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, Substack, Medium, and Slack.

According to the company, the application may be used for almost any situation where a person who works with documents has to generate a graphic, such as blog posts, pitch decks, presentations, social media content, newsletters, data and research reports, customer communications, and more.

According to Napkin.ai, more than 30 different graphic types are already available, including mind maps, flow charts, Venn diagrams, bar charts, pie charts, and more. The team intends to regularly upgrade the platform in the future to provide more potent customizations and image formats.

Jason Miller, the Chief Operating Officer of the autonomous AI agent startup SproutsAI Inc., is without natural design talents, but he has grown to admire Napkin.ai’s incredibly simple and practical features.

Jason Miller said, “Whether I need a quick diagram for a blog post or a chart for a presentation, Napkin generates exactly what I’m looking for in seconds. Before Napkin, we were constrained regarding what graphics we could access, but now we have a designer at our fingertips, offering unlimited access to enhance our business storytelling with visuals.”
