OpenAI LP and Stripe Inc. have signed a technological collaboration agreement that will result in the adoption of each other’s cloud services.
Recently, the firms announced their partnership.
ChatGPT Plus, a commercial version of OpenAI’s ChatGPT chatbot, delivers quicker response times and more perks for USD 20 per month. As part of its new agreement with Stripe, OpenAI is leveraging the startup’s payments technology to manage membership transactions for ChatGPT Plus. Moreover, the platform assists OpenAI in billing customers for their DALL-E image creation model.
The new agreement also includes a variety of additional Stripe services.
Customers who purchase ChatGPT Plus memberships input their payment information on a checkout page hosted by Stripe Checkout, an e-commerce form builder. Customers of OpenAI can now utilize Link to expedite transactions. Link is a Stripe service that automatically populates a checkout page with the user’s payment information to save time.
OpenAI uses Stripe’s Stripe Tax and Revenue Recognition services to increase the efficiency of its accounting team. Stripe Gax simplifies the sales tax collection procedure. In turn, the Revenue Recognition service assists with activities such as refund management.
Peter Welinder, vice president of product and partnerships at OpenAI, said, “Beyond payments, Stripe is helping us with everything from recurring billing and tax compliance to automating our financial operations.”
Stripe is embracing OpenAI’s new GPT-4 paradigm to make its services more accessible to developers. ChatGPT’s more advanced successor, GPT-4, launched on Tuesday. Complex jobs, such as conveying mathematical ideas and creating software code, are performed more efficiently by this system.
Stripe provides application programming interfaces that let software developers incorporate its services into their applications. It includes technical documentation for each API that describes how it operates. Whenever developers require clarity on a particular API function, they must frequently actively search Stripe’s documentation.
The business is developing a GPT-4-based solution to ease the learning process. According to the firm, the tool will allow developers to ask a query about an API and receive an immediate explanation in natural language based on the API’s technical documentation. The objective is to decrease the number of knowledge base items developers must manually comb through.
Stripe implied that it intends to implement GPT-4 in additional areas. The business tested an earlier OpenAI model to assist its customer care employees in responding to technical assistance inquiries more quickly a year ago. The corporation may want to update its AI-powered customer care processes to GPT-4 as part of its new cooperation with OpenAI.
