Opsera Inc., a provider of DevOps orchestration platform, recently disclosed a successful USD 12 million funding round. Additionally, it launched Hummingbird AI, an innovative generative AI solution offering holistic insights into developer experience and productivity throughout the software lifecycle.
Taiwania Capital spearheaded the Series A Plus funding round and saw involvement from current investors such as Clear Ventures and Felicis, among others. With the USD 15 million Series A in April 2021, Opsera’s total raised funds amount to USD 31.3 million, showcasing a significant financial milestone for the company.
Opsera offers an integrated DevOps platform enabling enterprise customers to optimize software delivery across the entire lifecycle—from development, testing, staging, to deployment—all within a unified interface. Opsera features a self-service catalog enabling developers to register tools, integrate with various services, and seamlessly operate across major clouds, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
The recently secured funds will drive the development and expansion of Hummingbird AI—a tool hailed as a ‘generative AI DevOps expert’ by the company. This tool offers vital insights throughout the software development lifecycle by comprehensively analyzing data and toolchains.
The new AI excels at providing real-time recommendations, analysis, and insights based on the ongoing activities within the software development process. For instance, if a piece of software consistently fails a specific test, Hummingbird AI can identify the bottleneck and suggest remediation strategies to facilitate a smoother testing process. This can involve removing a specific module or investigating an alternative piece of code that previously failed in testing.
The AI-generated summaries are designed to be human-readable, offering a clear and easily understandable overview, in contrast to the complex and intricate error code that typically requires meticulous line-by-line examination. Furthermore, integrating machine learning capabilities with MLOps orchestration will enhance cloud deployment speed and security in multicloud operations. It will also elevate visibility through efficacy scoring and the detection of biases. Organizations’ overall security efforts can be improved with the help of security scorecards and recommendations.
“With Hummingbird AI, users from across the organization will be able to improve efficiency, security and quality even more and have critical insights right at their fingertips with a 100% shift-left approach,” said Kumar Chivukula, Co-founder and CEO of Opsera.
Chivukula added that according to internal surveys, Opsera users improved their security and quality posture by using the platform by 60% and shipped code 80% faster.
Opsera operates in a highly competitive market, with numerous companies offering similar DevOps platform solutions. Valued at USD 8.9 billion in 2022, the market is forecasted to reach USD 10.9 billion in 2023. It is anticipated to surge to an estimated value of USD 57.9 billion by 2030, as reported by Templeton and Partners.
