Oracle Corp. expanded role-based generative AI features of its Fusion Cloud Supply Chain and Manufacturing platform, to automate routine functions for supply chain professionals.

These AI-driven tools are designed to enhance workflow efficiency, optimize decision-making, and improve overall operational performance across various supply chain functions.

Over the past year, Oracle has continuously upgraded its Fusion Cloud enterprise resource planning suite, incorporating new generative AI features with each release. According to Miranda Nash, group Vice President for Oracle AI, these AI agents are seamlessly integrated into Oracle Cloud SCM and can be customized using a simplified form of retrieval-augmented generation that requires minimal technical expertise.

“As you’re setting up the agent, you basically make Oracle AI aware of that source of truth and then it becomes part of Fusion,” Nash said. “There is no data science or engineering expertise necessary. Users just ask their questions. They’re not aware that there is any training.”

According to Nash, permissions are managed through role-based access controls, ensuring that each user has appropriate access. Additionally, a customer’s training data is securely stored within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and is never utilized to train the general AI model.
