Space and Time Labs Inc., a decentralized data warehouse business, revealed that it has integrated with OpenAI LP’s chatbot technology to allow developers, analysts, and data engineers to query their data and generate dashboards using natural language prompts.
Space and Time is the developer of a hybrid and decentralized data warehouse that enables transactional queries on any blockchain with low latency and scalable analytics within a single cluster. Each question in Space and Time is validated by what the company calls “proof of SQL,” a novel zero-knowledge proof technique that demonstrates that each query is accurate and tamper-proof in a cryptographic manner.
The concept is that Space and Time can facilitate automated inquiries by smart contracts, which are pre-programmed agreements that automatically execute when certain conditions are met. According to Space and Time, knowledge of Structured Query Language, which is used to manage and query relational database information, was traditionally required for data analysis.
Due to this requirement, constructing a data pipeline that funnels information from multiple sources into a database has traditionally demanded high technical expertise from users. It is also not a fast procedure.
Now, however, Space and Time have eliminated the need for SQL expertise, allowing any business user to construct data pipelines, query information, and dashboards using natural language prompts. With the recent incorporation, the startup introduced “Houston,” a chatbot powered by generative artificial intelligence that can answer queries about data from any source. According to the company, Houston translates queries into SQL on the run, and responses can be published instantaneously to a dashboard, application programming interface, or AI model.
Scott Dykstra, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Space and Time, believes that AI-powered SQL will be a game-changer for small businesses with agile analytics teams, as it can reduce the time-to-value for numerous crucial duties.
Scott Dykstra stated, “Space and Time users can generate SQL or Python scripts from prompts, ask natural-language questions about data and get back an accurate visualization of the answer, and load in new datasets all by simply conversing with our chatbot. Whether the focus is indexed blockchain data or off-chain data from your business, discovering, querying, and building on that data is just a few prompts away.”
Currently in beta testing, Space and Time’s decentralized data warehouse can be deployed on any decentralized network or a private intranet, with all sensitive data encrypted in-database, in-transit, and in-use, according to the company.
